We are on our way to the 35th Annual Elders Gathering hosted by Sto:lo Nation and Coast Salish  July 12 to 14. 39 Elders are leaving on Monday July 11th returning July 15th.

We are anticipating a warm welcome when we arrive in Abbotsford.  The theme of the gathering is “Bringing People Together”–Honouring our ancestors through our elders and recognizing our future through our youth.

Check out the website: www.35theldersgathering.com

The group of Elders will be leaving Monday, July 11th at 7:00 a.m., travelling on the Elders Bus, Recreation Van and carpooling in 12 vehicles. (Click ‘View Post’ from Facebook)

I would like to thank the BC Association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres for providing a Transportation Grant and the New Relationship Trust Elders Grant to assist with the expense of the gathering.

I also congratulate all Elders who fundraised this past year and thank the community for supporting our Elders to raise funds towards their trip.

We look forward to returning with many stories and pictures to share.
