Líl̓wat Nation is working with the local food banks to temporarily bring food bank services within the community during the COVID-19 crisis. This is being done to reduce travel to receive services, and to better serve the community while allowing people to remain in isolation or respect the need for social distancing. The Pemberton Food Bank will not be operating as usual this coming Monday. For those in need of food bank services, here is how you can access food bank supports:
Please call the Líl̓wat Nation main number at (604)894-6115 on Friday or Monday, between 8:30-4:30, except between 12-1. The receptionist will take your —your name, the names of the family members in your care, your address, and any allergies. We will then partner with the food bank to create basic food packages that will be delivered to the address you provide, on Monday or Tuesday of next week. We will be working hard to coordinate deliveries, and ask for your understanding and patience while we work through this process.
You will not be able to access the food bank directly thru Pemberton, this will be your contact with the Pemberton Food Bank.
We know this is a time of uncertainty, and are working to support the needs of Líl̓wat Nation members.
At this time we are positioned to deal with urgent food needs in the community by partnering with the local food banks. If you have additional concerns, please contact the main number with those concerns and we will work to get back to you and assist with those needs where possible.
