Líl̓wat Nation has been advised by Environment Canada and the BC River Forecast Centre that an extreme weather event (heavy rain, rain-on-snow) is expected over the next 48 hours bringing up to 150mm of rain by Thursday to Howe Sound, up to 100mm in Whistler and up to 80mm in Pemberton in conjunction with rising freezing levels to above 3000m.

Overland flooding is possible in low-lying areas and extra caution should be taken when travelling due to heavy downpours and water pooling on roads. Delay travel where possible, remember to check Drive BC before departing and leave plenty of extra travel time to allow for conditions. Exercise high caution near riverbanks and streams and avoid these areas where possible as water levels and bank stability can change suddenly.
