The Liĺwat Nation is seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant to support the Trades & Industry Training Program.

Status:                             Temporary, Part-time. Starting October 2018 to March 31, 2019
Reporting to:               Trades & Industry Training Coordinator
Wage/Salary:             30 hours per week/Hourly wage $18

Summary:

The Liĺwat Nation is seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant to support the Trades & Industry Training Program. The ideal candidate will have experience handling a wide range of administrative tasks using Microsoft Office and be able to work independently with little supervision. The applicant must be positive, well organized, motivated, flexible and enjoy the challenges of supporting and interacting with diverse peoples and programs. This contract runs from October 2018 to March 31, 2019, with the possibility of extending the position.

Key Deliverables:

  • Daily meal preparation for students
  • Monitoring attendance and communication with students
  • Developing and updating spreadsheets to track student information and inventory
  • Maintaining and organizing records and files
  • Creating Social Media updates
  • Scheduling and confirming cultural experts, caterers, hotels and busses
  • Assist in planning special events such as Work Search Days, Graduations, Field Trips and Support Nights
  • Other Duties as required

Key Qualifications and Attributes:

  • A minimum of one-year experience in an Administrative Assistant role or equivalent
  • Experienced with MS Office: Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate multiple tasks with competing timelines
  • Excellent verbal /written communication skills
  • High School Graduation
  • Knowledge and understanding of Liĺwat Nation, culture and history is an asset
  • A valid Driver’s license and own vehicle an asset
