Title:                         Summer Student Employment Coordinator
Location:                Tśzil – Employment & Training Department
Status:                      Temporary Full-time (35 hours/week for 9 weeks)
Reporting to:        Maury Bikadi, Trades, Training and Employment Manager
Wage/Salary:       Dependent on Experience

Summary:

The purpose of the Summer Student Employment Program is to provide aboriginal youth with work experience and skill development that will assist them in their career decisions and professionalism in the workplace.  Further, the intent is to create an awareness of options, actions and consequences of fostering a work ethic, as well as provide motivation to pursue further education.

Key Deliverables:

  • Assist with the implementation of programs and activities,
  • Contribute to the development and execution of planned activities
  • Assist with time card and bus ticket pick up/drop off
  • A go to support for youth employees and employers
  • Ensure student employees understand the importance of time management and employee/employee expectations

 Key Qualifications and Attributes: 

  • Knowledge and experience in youth programming
  • Flexible work schedule; willing to work evening and weekends
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Positive role-model
  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
  • Preference given to those with a class 5 driver’s license
  • Must be age 15 or older with a SIN number
  • Returning to school in the fall of 2019
  • Criminal Record check is required
