Notice of sewer smoke testing today: Thursday August 30th,  2018.

A crew will be onsite in Mount Currie, and Xet̓ólacw to test the sewers for leakage. They will inject a non-toxic smoke into the manholes and use fans to blow the smoke into the sewer and your house plumbing. This smoke will exit the sewer pipes through even the smallest cracks, so you might see smoke coming out of strange places in your house and also creeping through the ground outside the house.  The smoke is safe and will not harm you or your house.

Please do the following:

1) BEFORE THE TEST pour a litre of water down each sink and floor drain to flood the trap that is under the drain. This will keep the smoke from coming up through these drains if the trap is dry.

2) If you have smoke coming through your walls or plumbing fixtures, note the location on this form and submit to the Band Office.

3) If you have concerns while the testing is taking place, please call our engineer on site or the contractor on site:

    Paul (engineer) 604-619-1407

    George (contractor) 604-690-4281

4) Please let your neighbors and relatives know what is going on in case they do not read this and help them complete this form if they need help.
