Wildfire and Climate Change Winter/Spring 2019:
Wildfire Risk Reduction in Whistler Webinar, March 7, 2019

Whistler is located in an area with high wildfire risks and significant community and provincial values. Heather Beresford, Environmental Services Manager, Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW), Bruce Blackwell, RPF, B.A. Blackwell and Associates Ltd., and Tom Cole, Forestry Manager, Cheakamus Community Forest, will review how the RMOW has assessed wildfire risk then planned and implemented wildfire risk reduction activities at both the landscape and community scales, including FireSmart, high priority area fuel treatments and fuel break logging. This work is being completed by Líl̓wat Forestry Ventures, a division of Líl̓wat Business Group. Everyone is welcome to attend this important session.
